Rubber Surfacing in Edmonton

Rubber surfacing is a poured rubber-granule surface bonded with a binder system over a prepared base, used for driveways, walkways, stairs, and other high-traffic outdoor surfaces. Build Elegance installs it in custom colour blends, from single tones to flecked and multi-colour combinations, with borders and inlays where the design calls for them.

Materials & method

01

What It Is

Rubber surfacing combines recycled and coloured rubber granules with a binder, poured and rolled over a prepared concrete or compacted base, a seamless, textured surface rather than a hard, uniform slab.
02

Surface Preparation

The base surface is cleaned, repaired, and primed before the rubber system is poured, since long-term adhesion depends on how well the existing surface is prepared.
03

Colour & Design

Colour blends, borders, and inlays, including house numbers and custom shapes, are mixed and poured to the design worked out during the estimate.
04

Applications

Driveways, walkways, exterior stairs and landings, and patios are the most common applications, on both residential and commercial properties.
05

Weather & Maintenance

Edmonton's freeze-thaw winters put outdoor surfaces through real stress; poured rubber systems are chosen and prepared with that exposure in mind. Maintenance is limited to routine cleaning, ask about specifics for your surface during your estimate.
06

Surface Protection

Every surface is finished with an aliphatic polyurethane binder top coat, applied after installation and reapplied every five years to protect colour and texture against UV exposure and everyday wear.
